Entering Tuesday’s NBA Draft Lottery, the Detroit Pistons, Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs had the best odds of landing the No. 1 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, but it was the Spurs who came away with a little lottery luck as the No. 1 ping-pong ball bounced their way. If there was ever a time for the basketball gods to bless your team, it is now. French phenom Victor Wembanyama – who is widely considered to be the top prospect since LeBron James – is expected to hear his name called first overall at the draft on Tuesday, June 22. The Athletic’s Sam Vecenie has Scoot Henderson of the G League Ignite, Alabama’s Brandon Miller, Amen Thompson of Overtime Elite and Villanova’s Cam Whitmore rounding out the top five in his 2023 draft top 100 and post-lottery mock draft.
