NBA Draft Room

Draft Lottery day is always one of the most exciting days of the year for draft nerds. We go through months of mock drafts not knowing what the actual draft order will be or which teams will be picking at the very top of the draft. Then there’s the lottery show itself, the suspenseful spectacle of the presentation of the results, leading up to the big reveal of which team has won the top pick. The Hawks have won the 2024 draft lottery and will have the dubious honor of trying to pick the best player out of a group of good but not great prospects. Will they add Alexandre Sarr to their front court? Or perhaps go with one of the talented wings? It seems like it’s time for some sort of shake up in Atlanta, either with a big trade of one of their star guards or some other move. Adding Sarr (or whoever they pick at no.1) will be a step in the right direction. The Wizards have been one of the doormat franchises in the NBA for the past two seasons but now have a chance to add another key piece to the rebuild with the no.2 pick. I’d be leaning towards a high usage guard like Nikola Topic but it’s hard to know what they will do with this pick. This is going to be one of those drafts where we don’t know what’s going to happen until it happens.
